Hi, I'm Yous

My full name is Yousra Nciri, but everyone calls me Yous, and that is the name I sign my paintings with. I work in oil and acrylic on stretched canvas, mostly at a size that fits above a sofa or a bed, somewhere between 33 cm and 80 cm on the long edge.

I paint the same handful of things over and over because I like them: water at the moment the light turns, blossom against a flat sky, flowers close enough that you can see the brush marks, and animals caught looking somewhere else. Some canvases take an evening and some take a month.

Every piece here is the only one of itself.
